Connected Care Programme to support and sustain technology enabled care

The Connected Care Programme has been developed by Boilerhouse Communications to assist public sector managers working in the technology enabled care arena keep track of what is going on around the country and to share their own thoughts and innovations with their peers in other parts of the public sector.

The Connected Care Programme which has been quietly rolling out over the last couple of months is now well under way.

"Given the urgency and the complexity of the whole technology enabled care piece", says Ather Abbas Commercial Director at Boilerhouse, "we saw there was a pressing need to support and resource communication for collaboration and understanding".

The Connected Care Programme includes

  • a dedicated content and opinion platform Health & Care Innovation Monitor
  • a dedicated public sector, digital innovations sharing platform Public Service Digital eXchange, launched in October and initially featuring the ADASS care apps showcase plus
  • a dedicated area on the platform featuring Local Digital Innovations (developed in collaboration with LCIOC) that shares, tracks and analyses digital performance in local authorities and other local public services.
  • a dedicated weekly podcast Reality Bites – the National Health & Care Conversation (launching 3rd November)
  • a dedicated suite of events including sector specific summits hosted by PSD in Birmingham starting in early 2017 and the ADASS Care Apps Conference event already booking for March 7th 2017

"I spent some time talking to public sector managers and commercial sector market leaders in May and June of this year" said Sales Director, Ben Webber "and what was clear was that there was a real need for new channels in the conversation about technology enabled care. Events provide a focus of course but 'content really is king' and it's our online platforms that are the essential factor in starting and sustaining the conversation that is necessary in developing new models of care delivery. Getting the platforms right was our first thought.

In a separate development Vicky Sargent MD at Boilerhouse said that the 2016/2017 Better Connected public sector digital performance surveys will include two surveys on health and social care topics (one survey on finding local care services for elderly people and another on getting a council assessment for care needs). These surveys have been developed in collaboration with the leading age care charity Independent Age.
